History

North Coast Dental Group began in 1956 as an independent practice on the Keeler Street Circle. Its founder, Dr. Stanley Handelman, who became chairman of the Department of General Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Center, partnered with Dr. Jack Howitt, a pediatric dentist who also practiced in the same neighborhood. The two dentists combined their practices in the late 1960s at 1400 Portland Avenue. As the busy office attracted more and more patients, its founders reached out to some of the most respected dentists they knew at the Eastman Dental Center; Drs. Howard Weiner, Malcom Musiker and Pediatric Dentists, David Levy and Charles Brenner.

In 1998, the practice moved to a brand new facility at 1875 Hudson Avenue in Irondequoit where it sits today. Though dental technologies and techniques changed, the founding principles of pairing accomplished general dentists with compassionate and excellent pediatric dentists remain the same.

Today, North Coast Dental Group offers comprehensive services to its patients of every age. We have built a staff of highly skilled hygienists, assistants and administrators—all focused on ensuring a positive dental care experience for you and your children. Many staff members have been with the practice for many years, so you will see familiar welcoming faces each time you visit the office.
